大明元宝四十八两。大明元宝”为嘉靖初年所铸。此大明元宝是丁丑年48两银锭，宝银的两端呈圆孤形并向上隆起，高翘如船状，整个银锭呈马蹄形，外面微显锈迹其面有三行楷书铭文：两侧还分别印着“丁丑年”、“四十八两”样，左为“丁丑年造”，右为“四十八两”，中间是四个楷书大字“大明元宝”，“宝”字中部写法从二“王”，均是阳文。这是明早期银锭所固有的特征。，经实测，这枚银锭形制比较标准，造型统一，表面凹陷，锭面隐约可见浇铸冷却后形成的水波纹，底坐略有凸凹呈蜂窝状。
